The date of April 7, 1904 is linked to the "Thiès Rebellion," a tragic story that pitted the crown prince of Cayor, Dierry Dior Ndella Fall, against the son of the 32nd Damel of Cayor, Samba Yaya Fall. The story ended with the tragic death of the latter, who was betrayed, killed, and beheaded by his relatives.
