COOPÉRATION: Le Sénégal et la Turquie consolident leur partenariat stratégique, affirme Ousmane Sonko
On an official visit to Türkiye, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko was warmly received at the presidential palace in Ankara on Thursday, at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The head of government reiterated Senegal's commitment to granting "a privileged place to Turkish partners in the implementation of the Senegal 2050 Agenda."
For him, it is essential to highlight the importance of cooperative relations with Turkey, which have been elevated to the rank of "strategic partnership".
During a joint press conference, he welcomed “the strengthening of bilateral relations between Senegal and Turkey, whose cooperation has already reached the level of strategic partnership,” reports APS.
On behalf of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Ousmane Sonko confirmed that Turkish partners will have a privileged role in the implementation of the Senegal 2050 Agenda.
The Prime Minister also reiterated Turkey's full commitment to supporting the achievement of Vision Senegal 2050, the country's strategic transformation plan.
President Erdogan praised the "relevance" of the Senegalese government's Economic and Social Recovery Plan to revive the economy. He congratulated the Senegalese authorities for their decision to prioritize endogenous financing of this plan, which, according to Ousmane Sonko, symbolizes the "willingness of the new authorities to promote autonomous development."
