The highest individual honor in world football is fast approaching. On September 22, 2025, the magazine "France Football" will recognize the best footballers of the past season. This Thursday, the media outlet unveiled the list of nominees for the various trophies.

For the Kopa Trophy, which rewards the best U21 player, we unsurprisingly have Lamine Yamal, the defending champion. Then there's his FC Barcelona teammate Pau Cubarsi and Désiré Doué, who is the Spanish winger's main rival. There's also Ayyoub Bouaddi and Joao Neves.

Also in this ranking, we note the presence of Estevao, Dean Huijsen, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kenan Yildiz and Rodrigo Mora. In the women's category, the five nominees are Michelle Agyemang (19 years old/England/Brighton and Arsenal), Linda Caicedo (20 years old/Colombia/Real Madrid), Wieke Kaptein (19 years old/Netherlands/Chelsea), Claudia Martinez Ovando (17 years old/Paraguay/Club Olimpia) and Vicky Lopez (19 years old/Spain/FC Barcelona).

The goalkeepers are a classic. Among the contenders are Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Yassine Bounou (Al-Hilal), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid), Jan Oblak (Atlético de Madrid), David Raya (Arsenal), Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest), Yann Sommer (Inter Milan), and former Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (who has signed for PSG).

For the 5 women's nominees: Ann-Katrin Berger (34 years old/Germany/Gotham FC), Cata Coll (24 years old/Spain/FC Barcelona), Hannah Hampton (24 years old/England/Chelsea), Chiamaka Nnadozie (24 years old/Nigeria/Paris FC and Brighton) and Daphe van Domselaar (25 years old/Netherlands/Arsenal).
