CHAN 2024 : l'Algérie tenue en échec par l'Afrique du Sud
The Group C clash between Algeria and South Africa was without a winner. Algeria, coming off a solid 3-0 win over Uganda, was held to a draw by a solid, tactically well-organized South African team.
The Fennecs had started the match well, opening the scoring in the 29th minute. But just before halftime, South Africa managed to equalize through Thabiso Simon Kutumela (45th). A historic goal, as it was the first conceded by Algeria in the CHAN finals since the 2011 edition.
In this five-team group, Algeria (1st, 4 points) remains well placed to secure qualification for the quarter-finals.
