Goudomp : Trois filles sur cinq sont excisées
The official rate is unknown, but according to Ibrahima Sané, focal point for the Goudomp Departmental Child Protection Committee (CDPE), at least 3 out of 5 girls are circumcised. Only foreigners, he says, often escape this cultural practice, which is deeply rooted in the collective consciousness. However, the population is unaware of the dramatic health consequences of this female genital mutilation (FGM).
To reduce the elasticity of the phenomenon, around twenty cultural and social media stakeholders are invited to two days of capacity building. The goal is to equip them so they can produce highly specific content capable of changing mentalities.
These influencers will therefore have the difficult task of designing very soft messages to ensure awareness among targets through social networks, sketches, songs and their writings.
