« Régime usé, corrompu, sous-perfusion... » : Tidjane Thiam lâche ses coups contre Ouattara
Côte d'Ivoire celebrated the 65th anniversary of its independence yesterday, Thursday, August 7. PDCI-RDA President Tidjane Thiam took the opportunity to settle scores with the current government.
“Be on the right side of history”
"The current regime came to power with the help of major external interference, which we all know about, under the auspices of the UN. So know that the Ivorians are holding you, outsiders, accountable for the actions of this regime that you put in place... If you want to preserve the good relations that my country has always maintained with you, be on the right side of history. Don't support a worn-out, aging, corrupt regime that is short of ideas," charged the former head of Credit Suisse.
In short, the opposition wants France and other UN nations to be involved in the current situation in Ivory Coast, because in reality it was the French Licorne force and UNOCI that installed Ouattara in power in 2011.
"If you make the wrong choice, the court of history and the Ivorians will judge you harshly."
Tidjane Thiam is convinced that these countries can no longer claim non-interference because this position is no longer tenable. He ends his speech with a warning: "If you make the wrong choice here, that is, the short-term and vested interests, the tribunal of history and the Ivorians will judge you harshly."
