Obtention du label JTI : Habibou Dia félicite Seneweb et en fait une référence
Thursday, August 21, 2025, was a day of celebration for Seneweb. On this date, Senegal's leading news website celebrated receiving its Journalism Trust Initiative certificate from Reporters Without Borders following an audit conducted by IRISQ. The media outlet celebrated the event with great fanfare, featuring its entire staff and prominent figures from the national and international press.
Among the guests was Habibou Dia, Communications Director. Despite an extremely busy schedule, he was keen to be present on this symbolic day for Seneweb. "For me, it was important to come and demonstrate, as Seneweb is proving, that when a media company is well managed, responsibly (...) it is possible for this company to have perfect governance and be economically viable," he declared.
Throughout his speech, the communications director was full of praise for the website. A testimony that draws its essence from his long-standing relationship with Seneweb, from his years in higher education, both in the public and private sectors, then his time at Dangoté to the United Nations. "Throughout my career, in all the positions of responsibility I have held, when it was necessary to create dashboards to collaborate with the most responsible media in terms of information dissemination, Seneweb came first," he said. According to Habibou Dia, the reasons for this systematic promotion are vast and range from the credibility and trust the public has in the press organization to the seriousness in the treatment of information and the transparency of its funding model.
This last point, according to the authority, "does not depend on any form of political or religious dependence... and that is a fundamental criterion of journalism." Taking Seneweb as an example, Habibou Dia took advantage of this platform to recall the commitment of the new authorities in the media sector. "And the whole message that we have been relaying since our arrival is the same message: the governance of press companies must be transparent and virtuous," he said.

Il est vrai qu'il y a eu un toilettage profond ici. Moins d'articles qui heurtent la sensibilité des gens et la section commentaires est plus clean maintenant. Bonne continuation.

Il y’a presque 20 ans je rencontrais ma femme sur sur seneweb rencontre. Je pense qu’ils doivent ramener cette partie pour permettre aux jeunes d échanger et surtout permettre aux gens de la diaspora de se connecter naturellement en adaptent les nouvelles technologies
on est pas là pour chercher femme.... mais pour s´informer.... va là bas et occupe toi bien de ma tante au lieu de lorgner une plus jeune
Honnêtement, je parcours seneweb plusieurs fois par jour. C'est mon principal site d'information. Seulement, depuis un certain temps, j'ai relevé qu'il n'est plus neutre. Attention aux politiciens. Ils sont tous pareils. Ils t'utilisent comme un mouchoir pour te jeter après.
