Décès du Pr Abdou Salam Fall : l’Ucad salue un "universitaire éminent, un homme d’une grande intégrité"
Dakar's Cheikh Anta Diop University was quick to respond to the death of Professor Abdou Salam Fall on Thursday. In a note, UCAD praised an "eminent academic, rigorous researcher, and man of great integrity," emphasizing the sociologist's "remarkable scientific and human legacy."
According to Ucad, the work and thinking of the former Director of LARTES-IFAN "have profoundly marked the social sciences in Africa over the last three decades."
It is for this reason, Ucad points out, that an international conference is planned for next November to pay tribute to him. A call for papers had already been launched in anticipation of this event, initiated by Lartes, the ETHOS doctoral school, and ANTS.
"This major scientific event will be an opportunity to celebrate the life, work and exceptional contribution of this great sociologist to the development of critical thinking and social policies in Africa," the note adds.

Comment on peut organiser un colloque international en moins de quatre mois ? Je n'ai vu ca dans aucune université digne de ce nom. Que la terre lui soit legere. Peut-etre en novembre 26 ?

Il meurt aujourd'hui et on décide aujourd'hui qu'on fera un colloque sur lui dans 4 mois. Si on veut saluer sa mémoire, ce ne doit pas être dans la médiocrité. La décision est non seulement hâtive (pourquoi se precipiter à l'annoncer ?) mais on ne tient pas un colloque international en 4 mois. Sa famille a autre chose en tête actuellement..
Nous présentons nos condoléances attristées à la famille éplorée et prions pour le repos de l âme de notre défunt collègue. Une personne ouverte et gentile.
