Guédiawaye : un émigré perd plus de 33 millions F CFA dans une escroquerie immobilière
A Senegalese immigrant, BS Koundoul, filed a complaint against D. Dia, presented as a real estate entrepreneur, for fraud and breach of trust involving more than 33 million CFA francs.
The incident began when the two men met in Senegal. D. Dia allegedly offered the emigrant the purchase of a plot of land in Diamniadio. After a site visit, BS Koundoul allegedly accepted the offer and agreed with D. Dia to construct a building for 14 million CFA francs. For this transaction, the emigrant had handed over a land title to the ZAC Mbao.
While abroad, BS Koundoul regularly received photos purporting to show the progress of the work, but which, according to investigators, came from other construction sites. Reassured by these images, he then allegedly entrusted D. Dia with the acquisition of five other plots (two in Almadies and three in Diamniadio), for a total of 33.05 million CFA francs.
Upon his return to Senegal, the emigrant reportedly noticed the absence of any construction and the non-existence of plots. Unable to contact D. Dia, he took legal action.
Following a report from the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor, the Keur Massar investigation unit conducted an investigation that led to the suspect's arrest. According to investigators, D. Dia admitted to some of the facts and had a criminal record. He was brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court.
