Khombole : Un trafiquant notoire de drogue arrêté à la gare routière
A successful raid for the Khombole territorial brigade. On Sunday, August 10, 2025, gendarmes arrested C. Niang, alias "EPI," a well-known drug trafficker in the locality. The operation took place at the local bus station, following meticulous surveillance by elements of Adjutant Major Yoro Diaw Ba, commander of the said territorial brigade.
An arrest after a long surveillance
Under surveillance for several weeks, the suspect was finally apprehended in possession of a stockpile of narcotics. A search revealed the following on him:
- 18 Indian hemp cones ready for sale
- A bag containing loose Indian hemp
- A pair of scissors used for packaging
- A sum of money of 72,000 CFA francs, probably the proceeds of his illicit activities
The arrest took place at Khombole's garage, where the alleged trafficker was sitting on his Jakarta motorcycle, which he used as a means of transport for his activities.
A well-known repeat offender
This was not C. Niang's first brush with the law. Recently released from prison following a previous arrest by the Ngoudiane Community Brigade, the suspect clearly has not learned from his past legal troubles.
This new arrest comes after a "careful operation prepared and executed" by the Khombole gendarmes, demonstrating their determination to dismantle drug trafficking networks in the area.
A relief for the local population
The arrest of this notorious drug dealer comes as a welcome relief to the residents of Khombole. His criminal activities "haunted the sleep of the people living near the garage" in the locality, creating a climate of insecurity and constant worry.
Residents of the area can now "sleep peacefully" after the neutralization of this trafficker who was openly operating in the area, disturbing public peace with his illegal activities.
Referral to the Thiès court
According to sources close to the prosecution contacted by Seneweb, the notorious dealer was brought before the Thiès High Court this Thursday. He will have to answer for his actions in court and risks a heavy sentence for drug trafficking, especially since this is a repeat offense.
This arrest is part of the reinforced fight against drug trafficking led by the security forces in the Thiès region, aimed at dismantling the networks and reassuring the local population.
