Passation de service au CHNU Aristide Le Dantec : El Hadji Mansour Diop s’engage pour un hôpital plus performant
The new Director of the Aristide Le Dantec National University Hospital, Elhadji Mansour Diop, has officially been installed. He has taken the reins of the institution, succeeding Babacar Thiandoum, whom he praised for "the remarkable work accomplished in recent years."
El Hadji Mansour Diop affirmed that he wanted to align his actions with "the President of the Republic's vision of a more accessible, more equitable, and more efficient health system." He promised to govern with rigor, loyalty, and strict respect for the moral and ethical values advocated by the new authorities.
Looking back on the more than century-old history of the hospital, which was founded in 1912 and became the first university hospital in French-speaking West Africa in 1969, Elhadji Mansour Diop highlighted the central role of Le Dantec in medical and paramedical training, research and the provision of care.
"Dantec is a living part of our health history, a symbol of resilience and excellence. It is up to us today to raise the torch of Senegalese medicine higher," he declared.
The new director has set several priorities: ensuring quality and accessible care; optimizing the use of modern equipment; strengthening human resources; driving medical innovation; ensuring exemplary governance; and positioning Dakar as a hub for medical tourism.
He also announced the complete digitalization of the patient journey, supported by the "New Technological Deal" to improve reception, communication and the professionalism of services.
Addressing patients, Elhadji Mansour Diop promised: "You will find in Le Dantec Hospital, your hospital, the human, material and moral resources necessary to listen to you, treat you, support you and monitor you."
"My door will always be open to you," he concluded, calling on teachers, caregivers, administrative and technical staff, social partners and students to join forces to build "a more efficient hospital, faithful to its vocation of excellence and at the service of patients."
