Guinée : Le Syli national a un nouveau sélectionneur
The Syli National has turned the page on Michel Dussuyer. Guinean football leaders have decided to choose Portuguese Paulo Duarte to lead the senior national team. The former coach of the Burkina Faso Stallions was presented to the press last Tuesday.
He signed a two-year contract that runs from "August 1, 2025 to August 1, 2027." With Mr. Duarte, Guinea is starting a new cycle, after the defeats conceded during the qualifiers for the 2025 CAN and the 2026 World Cup.
A connoisseur of African football
The Portuguese will reside in Guinea "for the entire duration of his contract." He will "obviously have annual leave but will also be able to go to Europe for visits as part of his missions."
Paulo Duarte is an expert on African football, having coached several nations on the continent.
He will lead the "Vision 2030" project with his employers, the aim of which is to raise the national Syli to the rank of the best African nations in the next five years.
