Laits infantiles : les poudres Guigoz, Nidal et Alfamino ne doivent pas être consommées

Nestlé has detected a toxin in "minute quantities" that can cause digestive problems.

Following the voluntary recall of certain infant milks produced by Nestlé and sold in Germany, Austria, Denmark, Italy and Sweden, France confirms that four infant milks sold in our stores and supermarkets are affected.

Through the consumer recall website, the Ministries of Economy and Agriculture are urging parents not to consume milk from the brands Guigoz, Alfamino, and Nidal. These products are sold throughout France in Auchan, Carrefour, Match, Intermarché, Francap, Monoprix, Franprix, Leclerc, and Lidl stores, as well as in pharmacies and on Amazon.

"An ingredient from a supplier is the source of the potential presence of cereulide from an oil rich in arachidonic acid (ARA)," the website warns. "Although the quantity detected is minute, Nestlé has chosen, as a precaution, to proactively recall the batches that may be affected," the company states.

Specifically, the recall affects numerous batches of Guigoz Digest+, Guigoz Expert, Guigoz Gest, Relais, Pelargon, Alfamino HMO milk (intended for babies with milk protein allergies), as well as Nidal and Nidalgest. On Monday, the Guigoz liquid milk recall notice had already been issued on RappelConso, specifying that Nestlé was acting voluntarily.

Destroy the boxes

None of these milks should be drunk, cereulide is a bacterial toxin carrying a "risk of vomiting and diarrhea", which appear between 30 minutes and five hours after ingestion.

In December, Nestlé had already issued a recall of infant formula in France after the detection of the microorganism Bacillus cereus on a production line. Some strains of Bacillus cereus can produce the notorious cereulide.

On its website, Nestlé asks consumers not to return the boxes to the stores where they were purchased, but to take a photo of each box concerned (front of the product + lot code under the box, clearly legible) in order to obtain a voucher from its consumer service.
