In its recusal request, which AFP has seen, the defense of the Swiss preacher asks the first president of the Paris Court of Appeal to order the recusal of the magistrate who will preside over the departmental criminal court for this trial, scheduled from March 2 to 20, considering that she did not present "the guarantees of impartiality required by the fairness of the hearing".
Tariq Ramadan, 63, is due to appear in court for rapes allegedly committed between 2009 and 2016 against three women. He denies the accusations.
In September 2024, the Islamic scholar was already sentenced in Switzerland to three years in prison, one year of which was suspended, for the rape of another woman.
"It is particularly difficult to imagine that a man who will have to answer to charges before the departmental criminal court for almost a month should be questioned during the period of Ramadan, during which he will not be in full possession of all his faculties, especially since he is affected by illness," commented his lawyers, Ouadie Elhamamouchi, Nabila Asmane, Sarah May Vogelhut and Marie Burguburu.
Ramadan is expected to begin around February 17th and end around March 18th.
They also accuse the magistrate of remaining deaf to their requests to reopen the investigations in light of several expert reports they have submitted which, according to them, prove her innocence.

Quant à sa profession elle est mensongère ; tariq la trique n'a fait que donner qq leçons dans un collège privée en Suisee, ce collège l'a licencié après avoir appris qu'il ne faisait pas qu'enseigner ....suivez mon regard.
Ce triste sire sadique doit être jugé pour tous ses méfaits, DAME JUSTICE N'EST PAS AVEUGLE. J'OUBLIAIS... sa femme et ses rejetons lui gardent toute leur admiration et leur soutien.....
