Cessez-le-feu Usa – Iran : La réaction du Gouvernement du Sénégal
The Senegalese government, through its Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, has just issued a statement on the latest developments in the Middle East. It "welcomes the conclusion of the ceasefire agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, marking an important step towards easing tensions in the Middle East."
Thus, Senegal welcomed the upcoming opening of negotiations between the two parties and expressed hope that this dynamic will pave the way for a lasting de-escalation, the resumption of dialogue and the consolidation of peace, in a regional context marked by strong tensions.
Our country also welcomed the mediation efforts of several countries, including the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, "whose constructive approach contributed to the outcome of this agreement."
Senegal therefore encourages the various parties to continue their efforts towards a comprehensive, inclusive and lasting agreement, "taking into account the interests of the entire international community".
He reaffirmed his willingness to support any initiative aimed at strengthening peace, security and cooperation between nations.
