Paix, justice et dignité : le message du Président de la République au Corps diplomatique
During the traditional New Year's greetings ceremony of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Dakar, at the Presidential Palace, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, expressed Senegal's position on current global challenges, including persistent conflicts, insecurity in the Sahel, climate change and the weakening of multilateralism.
He also reaffirmed the country's commitment to dialogue, consultation and respect for international law, rejecting any logic of unilateralism or domination.
The President of the Republic also reiterated Senegal's call for impartial action from the international community for peace, justice and human dignity, stressing the country's commitment to the equal dignity of cultures and civilizations as the foundation of peaceful coexistence between peoples.
Speaking about the diplomatic agenda for 2026, the Head of State highlighted the major events that Senegal is preparing to host, including the high-level preparatory meeting for the United Nations Water Conference, the 10th edition of the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, and the Youth Olympic Games, the first Olympic event organized on the African continent.
Finally, he welcomed the support of Senegal's partners and reaffirmed the country's openness to cooperation based on friendship, mutual respect and solidarity.
