Sénégal-Botswana : Diomaye Faye et Duma Boko veulent renforcer leur coopération économique
On the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit, Presidents Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye and Duma Boko held talks in the early afternoon to give new impetus to relations between Dakar and Gaborone.
The two heads of state expressed their satisfaction with the strong ties between Senegal and Botswana, characterized by fraternity. They shared a common desire to significantly enhance their partnership, particularly by increasing the volume of trade and economic exchanges.
Over the decades, Botswana has established itself as an African benchmark for transparent mining management in service of national development. Senegal intends to draw upon this experience. This ambition aligns with President Faye's approach to leveraging natural resource development as a driver of economic transformation for the benefit of the Senegalese people.
Technical teams from both countries are expected to meet soon to identify other areas of cooperation. This work could lead to the signing of memoranda of understanding aimed at formalizing this closer relationship.
