Tribunal de Mbour : Derrière “Khadija”, un élève de terminal arnaque et publie les numéros de ses clientes pour salir leur réputation
A. Nd., a high school senior, was tried in the Mbour High Court for illegally collecting personal data, identity theft, and fraud via TikTok. His scheme is shocking. The young man impersonated someone named "Khadija" to conduct online sales. He admits to having started with small profits.
"I was making sales that earned me 2,000 CFA francs. Then I saw people talking about scams on TikTok… I wanted to try my luck. I could earn up to 30,000 CFA francs per day," he explained.
But his fraudulent activity was short-lived. Two young women, alleged victims, published his number to raise awareness of his practices. In retaliation, A. Nd. crossed the line: he posted their numbers and photos on TikTok, presenting them as prostitutes looking for clients. AS Niang and F. Diop received incessant calls, at all hours of the day and night.
In court, F. Diop confessed: "He even called me pretending to be a police officer. He threatened me before publishing my number. I was receiving calls from men looking for a prostitute."
During his arrest, investigators found four phones and two identity documents in his possession, which he claims to have picked up.
Facing him, the presiding judge didn't mince words: "With your innocent face, your actions are extremely dangerous." The defendant, visibly overwhelmed, simply replied: "I made a mistake."
On behalf of the plaintiffs, AS Niang claimed 100,000 CFA francs in damages. The prosecutor, for his part, requested the strict application of the law.
The verdict is expected on March 24, 2027.
