Dakar's urban transport sector is experiencing a major crisis surrounding electronic ticketing, transforming a technological reform into an open conflict between operators. Two systems are now vying for dominance: Transpay, supported by the majority of AFTU members, and Citypay, championed by Transdev.

Quoted by L'Observateur, Aliou Sall, spokesperson for Artu-Aftu, accuses Transdev of trying to impose its solution without consultation, denouncing a "forced" approach contrary to the sector's governance rules. The dispute was brought before the courts, which issued an interim order on April 28, 2026, suspending the deployment of the contested equipment. Despite this decision, tensions persist, with Transpay supporters denouncing the disregard for the court order.

This blockade raises the threat of a bus network shutdown, with some stakeholders openly discussing a strike. In this context, Aliou Sall is calling for respect for the law and for calm to avoid an escalation. Meanwhile, the newspaper from the Future Media Group adds, the creation of the Alliance for a Renewal of Urban Transport (ARTU) is presented as an initiative aimed at "improving governance" and "restoring the spirit of cooperation" within the AFTU (French Association of Urban Transport Users). According to its promoters, this tool is not intended to compete with the AFTU, but rather to be a "support tool for sector reforms," designed to correct the observed "abuses."

Les bureaux des receveurs des bus Tata et Dakar Dem Dikk ne doivent pas être dans les bus mais dans les arrêts de bus. c'est ça qui est correct comme ça les clients vont acheter leurs tickets avant de prendre leurs bus...

Si les bus ne s'arrêtent qu'au niveau des arrêts. Et même si c'est le cas il faudra autant de receveurs que d'arrêts.

Salam pour commencer par diminuer le nombre de sections sur chaque lignes et les respecter DDD a au maximum 4 sections eux jusqu’à 8 c’est du N’importe quoi salam
