Pétrole et Gaz : Les chiffres de la production du mois d'octobre 2025
In the interest of transparency, the Minister of Energy, Petroleum and Mines, Birame Soulèye Diop, shared the production report for October 2025 concerning Sangomar and Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA), two major hydrocarbon exploitation projects in Senegal.
Oil: Sangomar's Performance
The Sangomar report shows that during the month of October 2025, three (3) shipments (SAN046, SAN047 and SAN048) were shipped and traded on the international market, representing a total volume of 2.92 million barrels.
The minister announced that the initial production projections for the year 2025, estimated at 30.53 million barrels, have been revised upwards to 34.5 million, thanks to a good response from the reservoirs, the good performance of the wells and the robustness of operational performance.
Production start date: June 2, 2024.
Cumulative production as of October 31, 2025: 47.09 million barrels.
Commercial production as of October 31, 2025: 46.07 million barrels (i.e., 48 cargoes).
Gas: GTA Advances (Grand Tortue Ahmeyim)
Regarding gas production at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) field, the report indicates that a major new milestone was reached in the production phase during October. A historic achievement was reached with the completion of the loading, for export, of its first cargo of condensate, estimated at 0.71 million barrels.
In parallel, three (3) Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) cargoes, namely GTA-2025-011, GTA-2025-012 and GTA-2025-013, were removed for export during this month, representing a total volume of 0.5 million m³ of LNG for October 2025.
Opening of the first well: December 31, 2024.
Start of LNG production: February 9, 2025.
Cumulative LNG production as of October 31, 2025: 2.31 million m³.
Commercial LNG production as of October 31, 2025: 2.18 million m³ (i.e., 13 cargoes).
