Réappropriation des ressources : Vers l’octroi du permis de Diender à PETROSEN
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Birame Soulèye Diop, announced important decisions regarding the reappropriation of national energy resources. He indicated that the PETROSEN Group could benefit from the Diender permit, previously held by FORTESA, as part of efforts to strengthen Senegal's energy security and sovereignty.
The minister also provided an update on the streamlining of structures under his department's supervision. Mergers are underway, notably between MIFERSO-SOMISEN and AEME-ANER, to enhance the efficiency and performance of services.
Regarding electrification, Birame Soulèye Diop revealed that his department, in collaboration with the ANSD (National Agency for Statistics and Demography), has identified 6,571 localities currently being connected to the electricity grid. Furthermore, “another 6,471 localities are not yet included in a specific program. A total of nearly 400 billion FCFA in funding is planned to ensure the connection of these remaining localities, illustrating the Ministry's commitment to bringing energy closer to rural populations and supporting local economic development.”
This initiative is part of the ministry's overall vision to ensure sovereign and responsible management of the country's energy resources, while improving access to electricity for all.
