Un avion d'Air China dérouté après l'incendie d'une batterie dans un bagage en cabine
An Air China plane was safely diverted to Shanghai on Saturday after a battery stowed in a passenger's carry-on bag caught fire, the airline said.
The incident occurred on board the flight from the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou to Incheon International Airport near Seoul, South Korea.
"A lithium battery spontaneously ignited in a passenger's carry-on baggage stowed in the overhead compartment of flight CA139," the airline said in a statement posted on the Chinese social network Weibo.
"The crew immediately handled the situation in accordance with procedures, and no one was injured," the statement said, adding that the plane was diverted to Shanghai Pudong International Airport "to ensure flight safety."
An image taken by a passenger and published by the state-affiliated national media outlet Jimu News shows flames in an overhead compartment. Black smoke is also seen, and at least one passenger is trying to extinguish the fire.
According to data from Flightradar24, which tracks global air traffic, the flight took off from Hangzhou at 9:47 a.m. local time (01:47 GMT). It circled back over the sea, roughly equidistant from China's east coast and the Japanese island of Kyushu, before landing in Shanghai shortly after 11:00 a.m. local time (03:00 GMT).

Les batteries ne doivent pas être acceptées en cabine et même en soute doivent être très bien conditionnées
L'incidence est spectaculaire mais pas aussi grave qu'il n'y apparaît, les batteries dans les produits portatifs sont généralement de petites tailles et de capacités limitées qui dans un environnement très surveillé avec la présence de plusieurs personnes mêmes enflammées sont vite maîtrisées. Seulement les mesures d'usage de sécurité exigent certaines procédures d'où cette déroute de l'avion.
Les batteries en lithium sont bien acceptees en cabine mais interdites en soute. la raison est qu'en soute un incident pareil serait passe inapercu et une catastrophe peut vite arriver. Par contre en cabine c'est toujours detecte et on peut prendre les mesures necessaires comme c'est le cas presentement.
