Ce coach victime du licenciement le plus rapide de l’histoire de la Premier league
In the Premier League, competition is fierce. Coaches quickly find themselves in the hot seat when they rack up a string of poor results. Club owners don't hesitate to dismiss them. This Saturday, October 18, for example, the English press announced the dismissal of Nottingham Forest coach Ange Postecoglou.
Ange Postecoglou spent 39 days on the Tricky Trees bench
The 60-year-old Australian coach was sacked after his team's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea this afternoon.
"Nottingham Forest Football Club confirms that Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect due to a string of disappointing results and performances," the club said in a statement. It added that it has "no further comment at this time."
Ange Postecoglou spent 39 days on the bench for the Tricky Trees. His dismissal is the fastest in Premier League history, breaking a sad record previously held by Leslyn Reed.
Under his leadership, Forest have not won any of their last 8 matches.
The latter was sacked by Charlton Athletic in 2006, just 40 days after his appointment.
Postecoglou paid the price for his team's poor performances. Under his leadership, Forest failed to win any of their last eight matches. The 3-0 defeat to Chelsea was the club's fourth consecutive competitive defeat. According to English media reports, Tricky Trees owner Evangelos Marinakis left the stadium in the second half. This did not bode well for the Australian.
