Déjeuner de Pape Thiaw et des membres de la Fédération à l’ambassade de France : La Colère de Guy Marius
Pape Thiaw, the coach of the lions, members of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) and former Senegalese internationals from the epic 2002, had a lunch of discussions with the French Ambassador to Senegal, at her residence in Dakar, this Thursday.
In a text it shared on its digital platforms, the FSF informed that this meeting was an opportunity to revisit the confrontation between the "lions" and the "blues" during the 2002 World Cup. This, before the next confrontation between Senegal and France, on June 16 in the USA.
However, the FSF emphasized that the meeting also addressed "the issues that will be at the heart of the Africa Forward summit." This did not sit well at all with MP Guy Marius Sagna.
Indeed, "Africa Forward" is a joint event organized by France and Kenya, which will focus on relations between African countries and France, with an emphasis on economic issues, entrepreneurship, and youth.
The former leader of Frap France Dégage was quick to react: "Our national football team of Senegal, which has all our love, cannot be used by the French embassy in Senegal for its neo-colonial objectives in Africa, for its Françafric summit called the AfricaForward summit," he posted on his Facebook page.
He believes the Senegalese Football Federation needs to get its act together. He also called on the Senegalese government, which he says "must be more vigilant."
