Mali : Voici la shortlist des candidats retenus pour le poste de sélectionneur des Aigles
It's an open secret. Mali is looking for a new national coach after the dismissal of Belgian Tom Saintfiet.
Initially, the Malian Football Federation (Fémafoot) received 28 applications. The ad hoc committee established to review these applications recently published a list of 11 shortlisted candidates. A thorough analysis of these coaches' files led to the elimination of 6. Only 5 candidates remain in contention.
Their names were published on Tuesday, May 19th, on the digital channels of Fémafoot.
The most suitable profiles will be submitted to the Executive Committee no later than Sunday, May 24, 2026.
These five coaches are Jean-Florent Ibenge from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mohamed Magassouba from Mali, Badou Zaki from Morocco, and Antonio Conceiçao and Anthony da Silva from Portugal. They will be summoned for in-depth interviews with the ad hoc committee. The results of these interviews will allow the Executive Committee (COMEX) to be presented with the most suitable candidate(s) by Sunday, May 24, 2026. COMEX will then appoint the new coach of the Eagles of Mali, in accordance with the principles of transparency, credibility, and performance.
Note that the CAF Pro Licence, the UEFA Pro or equivalents, experience and the sporting project (technical note) were essential criteria in the selection of candidates.
