Mondial-2026 – Maroc : Inquiétude autour d’Ilias Akhomach après sa blessure
The Moroccan national team is holding its breath for Ilias Akhomach! Just weeks before the 2026 World Cup, the Moroccan international from Rayo Vallecano has injured his left thigh, raising concerns about his physical condition.
According to several Spanish media outlets, medical examinations conducted in recent hours have revealed a slight muscle tear in his quadriceps. This injury is expected to keep the player off the field for an estimated two to three weeks.
This injury has already forced Akhomach to miss several important league matches. After his absence from Monday's game against Girona, the Moroccan is also expected to be unavailable for the matches against Valencia and Villarreal. His participation in the match against Deportivo Alavés, scheduled for May 23, remains uncertain.
Despite this situation, the Rayo Vallecano technical staff remains optimistic about their striker returning for the Conference League final against Crystal Palace FC on May 27.
