Propos transphobes : Chilavert cible Mbappé et crée la controverse
Former Paraguayan goalkeeper José Luis Chilavert has once again found himself at the center of a controversy, after comments targeting Kylian Mbappé amid tensions surrounding Vinicius Prestianni.
Already known for his controversial statements, the former goalkeeper, who notably played for Strasbourg, strongly criticized Vinícius Júnior's behavior. "I stand in solidarity with Prestianni. Vinicius is the first to insult everyone. You saw the footage where he can be seen telling Prestianni: 'Coward, coward!'" he declared.
But it was his attack on Kylian Mbappé that sparked the most outrage. In response to the support shown by the French striker to his teammate, Chilavert made transphobic remarks, bringing up the French captain's private life based on a rumor circulating on social media.
"Mbappé talks about values and lives with a transgender person. That's not normal. Everyone does what they want with their life, but it's not normal for a man to live with a transgender person. That's a woman's role," Chilavert said.
