Sénégal-Gambie : forts soupçons de conflit d’intérêts autour de la billetterie
On Tuesday, March 31, Senegal will face Gambia in a friendly match at the Abdoulaye-Wade Stadium. Less than twenty days before this encounter, a controversy is brewing regarding ticket sales. L'Observateur, which broke the story, reports that some are denouncing the fact that ticket sales were announced without prior consultation with the Finance and Audit Committee of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). "As a general rule," the newspaper, part of the Future Media Group, reminds readers, "any financial transaction of this magnitude must go through this committee to guarantee the transparency of revenue."
The president of the Senegalese Football Federation's (FSF) marketing, sponsorship, and digital development committee, Bamba Bâ, is reportedly at the heart of the problem. L'Observateur reports that, in his capacity as a federation official, he also acts as the service provider responsible for producing and selling tickets for the match. "An emergency meeting has been called today [Thursday] between the finance and audit committee and the marketing committee," L'Observateur announces. "According to an internal source, the meeting aims, among other things, to clarify the conditions under which the ticketing contract was awarded and to justify the lack of consultation with the Federation's financial oversight bodies."
