Cap Skirring : convoqué par la gendarmerie, un pasteur au cœur d’un rassemblement controversé de mineurs
The alert was raised by a worried parent after the disappearance of his child, who was eventually found at the "Blue Terrain", near the bolongs of Cap Skirring, within a large gathering of minors, reports Libération.
According to the same source, every Saturday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., a man nicknamed "Nando" organized religious teaching sessions on this site for about 300 children, supervised by several assistants and using educational booklets.
Based on its sources, the newspaper reports that the main suspect, identified by the initials F. Gomis, is an evangelical pastor who has been living in Cap Skirring since 2012. Summoned by the local police, he claims that these activities were voluntary, adding that they were sometimes accompanied by the distribution of gifts provided by a foreign Christian organization.
When asked about parental permission, he maintained that he did not need it, considering it to be simply a matter of religious teaching.
In response to concerns expressed by the public and in order to prevent any disturbance to public order, the gendarmerie ordered him to immediately suspend these gatherings and to regularize his situation with the administrative authorities, in compliance with the rules governing the protection of minors.
The case has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action, while the security forces are keeping a close watch, the daily newspaper reports.
