Kolda : le Président à l’écoute des préoccupations du Fouladou
During his economic tour of southern Algeria, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye met with local elected officials from the Kolda region. This meeting reflects a clear commitment to establishing direct dialogue with local stakeholders to better understand the realities on the ground.
During the discussions, representatives from Fouladou highlighted several major challenges, including opening up access to certain localities, rural electrification, and improving the road network. These concerns were deemed priorities for the development of the area.
In response, the President acknowledged the constraints linked to the current budgetary context, while assuring that the most urgent projects are receiving special attention with a view to their gradual implementation.
On the economic front, he announced an increase in funding allocated to the Southern Agropole, with an additional 50 million CFA francs in support. He emphasized Kolda's strategic role in this program, which includes the establishment of four industrial units, with funding already secured.
In addition, several major projects were discussed, including the upcoming start of 35 health centers, the elimination of temporary shelters in the education sector, and the drilling of boreholes to improve access to drinking water.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of State reassured the elected officials, stating that he had taken their concerns into account and reiterating his commitment to providing concrete answers.
