Koumpentoum: Une fillette de 4 ans meurt noyée dans un bassin
Shock and dismay are the prevailing sentiments in Kouthia Gaydi, a village in the Koumpentoum department of the Tambacounda region. Little A. Deme, approximately four years old, drowned yesterday, Sunday, around 5 p.m., after slipping away from her parents' supervision.
This tragedy has plunged her family and the entire community into deep sorrow. According to initial reports, the little girl tripped and fell into the deep waters of a pool. Unable to swim, the young victim struggled and cried out in distress, but she sadly succumbed before emergency services arrived.
Alerted, local residents and police officers could only confirm the child's death upon arrival. The body was recovered by firefighters and then taken to the morgue at the Koumpentoum health district. On the instructions of Prosecutor Aliou Dia, an investigation was immediately opened to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
