Thiès : Surpris sur un talibé, le gaillard détale comme un lièvre
The events took place early in the morning, around 7 a.m., recently, within the grounds of the Agora, an open-air performance and sports hall, adjoining Place Mamadou Dia, opposite the Promenade des Thiessois (formerly Place de France).
On his way to work very early that morning, a man, alerted by cries coming from the building, decided to investigate. He was surprised to see three people, including a "ndongo daara" (student) crying near a man who was riding another student.
"He's a pretty burly man. When I asked him what he was doing, he answered arrogantly, saying: 'What's it to you?' His reaction deeply exasperated me and made me furious. And when I reached into my bag to get out a weapon, he immediately abandoned the child and ran away," reports the man who came to the aid of the two children.
The perpetrator nevertheless managed to escape, disappearing into the surrounding countryside after a brief chase. This eyewitness repeatedly appealed to passersby for help, but to no avail. He stated that he found children with teary eyes, defenseless and abandoned.
The passers-by from whom he asked for help criticized him for not specifying that it was a "goordjiguene", believing it to be a case of theft.
