Guinée : Cheikh Guèye prend les commandes du Hafia FC
Senegalese coach Cheikh Guèye continues his career in the sub-region. After successful experiences in Senegal and Benin, he has been appointed the new coach of Hafia FC, a historic Guinean football club, with whom he embarks on a new challenge.
Renowned for his organizational skills and tactical rigor, Cheikh Guèye distinguished himself at the helm of Teungueth FC by leading the Rufisque club to the Senegalese championship title in 2024. This title confirmed his status among the most prominent coaches in Senegalese football.
Following that, he went to Benin to manage Loto Popo, where he spent two seasons on the bench. His time there enhanced his reputation in West Africa and attracted the attention of Hafia FC's management.
By entrusting him with the reins of the first team, the legendary Conakry club, winner of the Champions League (1972, 1975 and 1977), clearly demonstrates its ambitions: to reclaim its leading role on the national stage and reconnect with its glorious past. Cheikh Guèye will thus have the mission of building a competitive team, capable of bringing Hafia FC back to the pinnacle of Guinean football.
