Présidentielle au Bénin : L’ex-président Soglo appelle à "voter massivement"pour Romuald Wadagni
Less than four days before the presidential election in Benin, former president Nicéphore Dieudonné Soglo called for a "massive vote" for Romuald Wadagni and his running mate Mariama Chabi Talata. He made this appeal in a statement read at his home in Cotonou on the morning of Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The former statesman speaks in glowing terms of the current Minister of Finance who, it should be remembered, has not yet resigned from his post since the start of the election campaign.

For Nicéphore Soglo, the standard-bearer of the presidential movement is "a young and brilliant chartered accountant" who has "restored the economic and financial health of the country" over the last 10 years.

Concerned about the health and well-being of populations
For all these reasons, the former leader calls for a "general mobilization to propel Wadagni to the head of the country".
According to him, the Benin of tomorrow needs leaders like Romuald Wadagni, "concerned with modernity, the health of their citizens, their well-being and especially their education".
