Affaire Ngoné Saliou Diop : L'APR exige des poursuites et dénonce "une justice sélective"
In a press release published yesterday, Thursday, October 3, 2025, the National Executive Secretariat of the Alliance for the Republic took a stand against journalist Ngoné Saliou Diop and demanded the release of what it calls "political detainees."
Remarks of "unheard-of gravity" against the Fulani ethnic group
The tone is set from the outset of the statement. The APR "denounces and condemns the extremely serious remarks" made by Ngoné Saliou Diop, a journalist with the Sans Limites channel.
According to the party of former President Macky Sall, the communicator crossed an unacceptable red line.
"Expressing once again her persistent hatred against President Macky Sall, she made serious, insulting and stigmatizing remarks against all Senegalese of the Fulani ethnic group," the SEN accused in a vitriolic statement.
The APR describes Ngoné Saliou Diop as a "recognized Pastef propagandist" and asserts that his "repeated intolerable excesses" constitute "a threat to national unity and an open door to a possible ethnicist spiral."
Solemn questioning of the Public Prosecutor
Faced with what it considers to be serious ethnicist remarks, the opposition party solemnly calls on the Public Prosecutor. The APR demands that the magistrate "take action on his own initiative with the same speed as he does with members of the opposition" so that Ngoné Saliou Diop can answer for "these statements of unprecedented gravity before the courts."
This request reflects the party's conviction that there is a two-tier justice system: severe with the opposition, lenient with supporters of the regime.
A long list of "political prisoners"
The SEN draws up a detailed inventory of what it considers to be judicial persecution against its leaders and opposition figures.
APR officials in detention
The APR demands the immediate release of three of its executives currently incarcerated:
Farba Ngom
Lat Diop
Moustapha Diop
Electronic bracelet placements
The party demands the end of electronic surveillance of:
Ismaïla Madior Fall (former minister, constitutionalist)
Aïssatou Sophie Gladima (former minister)
Judicial review
The APR also requests the lifting of the judicial supervision imposed on Ms. Salimata Diop.
Recent arrests
The SEN denounces the "untimely" arrests of:
Pape Mahawa Diouf (APR deputy spokesperson)
Gaindé Macky (party activist)
Beyond the APR: other "prisoners of conscience"
The APR is broadening its fight by demanding the release of several figures it describes as "prisoners of opinion":
Abdou Nguer
Badara Gadiaga
Gérôme Bandiaky
Abdou Karim Mbacké
Ibrahima Ba
Tahirou Sarr (businessman)
The party also denounced the "kidnapping of the wife and two children of journalist Madiambal Diagne," a case that made headlines.
The question of the amnesty law
The APR raises a major legal contradiction. Recalling Law No. 2024-09 of March 13, 2024, the party asserts that "there can be no prosecution for acts that have been the subject of an amnesty without a pure and simple repeal" of this law.
The SEN denounces a "two-tier justice system": "At a time when the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister are using amnesty as a pretext to obtain a dismissal from the investigating judge, it cannot be acceptable to conduct discriminatory investigations against the Defense and Security Forces."
This position particularly targets the investigations announced into the events of 2021-2024, a period marked by violent demonstrations and contested security repression.
A call for general mobilization
In conclusion, the APR calls on the entire opposition to mobilize nationally to fight against the dictatorial excesses of power.
