Ma lecture sur la démission de Sidy Alpha NDIAYE (Par Daouda Sow)
Professor Sidy Alpha NDIAYE's resignation from his position as Coordinator of the legal department of the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic must have been motivated in large part by the opinion issued by the Constitutional Council on the draft bills intended to revise the Senegalese Constitution.
The Constitutional Council noted many legal errors, "inconsistencies" and other "unnecessary", "superfluous" or "contrary to the general spirit of the constitution" references.
So much so that the institution had to correct all these legal errors detected in the 34 "Considerations" before making its decision, following the confidential letter from the President of the Republic dated May 5, 2026.
Having missed such errors as coordinator of the presidential legal department, and having escaped the notice of the President of the Republic as well, he had no choice but to resign from the department. Failing that, he would be dismissed from his position.
Taking advantage of the situation, the gentleman seems to be simply taking a stand for Pastef and its president, while avoiding what appear to be the real reasons for his departure from the presidency.
Thus, he calmly rides the wave of sympathy from the patriots as if nothing had happened.
