Quand la rancune devient une ligne éditoriale et la perte du pouvoir, une maladie chronique,Par Abibou MBAYE
The two Mamadous - Ibra KANE and Sy TOUNKARA - recently tried
to act as judges of the Diomaye-Sonko tandem. A company
perilous, if not absurd, as their past condemns them even before
that they do not open their mouths. When one has drunk from the source of the fallen regime,
when one has shamelessly taken advantage of one's privileges, one does not come
today give lessons in political virtue to those who embody the
rupture and popular hope.
The debris of the old world:
The loss of power acts like a broken mirror: it reflects the image
distorted by those who no longer know where to stand.
Since the collapse of the Macky Sall system, some of its former
companions wander in the media and political void, searching
of a microphone, an audience, a platform to exist. In both
Mamadou, this wandering took the form of a crusade against Diomaye and
Sonko, two men who symbolize the end of a cycle and the beginning of a
new era. But when we have, for more than a decade, benefited
We should beware of the largesse of a regime hated by the people
to don the moralist's toga. Decency demands it, collective memory
imposes it.
Mamadou Ibra KANE: Chronicle of a Thwarted Ambition
Fallen press boss, politician without a base, Mamadou Ibra
KANE struggles to exist in a public space that does not grant him
no longer of interest. Its press organs have foundered one after the other,
his movement "Tomorrow is now" is struggling to break through the barrier
symbolic of anonymity, and his political ambitions evaporated
in the din of changing times. So, for lack of political existence,
he sets himself up as a systematic critic. Attacking Sonko and Diomaye is
became his ultimate calling card, his means of regaining visibility
lost media. But the exercise turns into a caricature, it gets lost in
conjectures, talks about medical bulletins and mental fitness, forgetting
that the real diagnoses to be made are those of one's own drift
intellectual and moral.
Mamadou Ibra KANE supported the outgoing regime until its last
moments, betting on Amadou Ba, as if betting on a last chance.
Today, the awakening is brutal, the ministerial promises have been
vanished, the hopes of nomination to the RTS dissipated, and the
resentment has taken the place of discernment.
When we fail to build, we end up destroying, or at least we try.
Mamadou SY TOUNKARA: from special advisor to moralist
self-proclaimed
The other Mamadou, Sy TOUNKARA, is not to be outdone. Until the last
days of the Macky Sall regime, he was comfortably paid at the Palace
settled in the delights of power. Special advisor to the president, after
a notable passage at AEME, he benefited from the manna of a system
of which he was both the communicator and the beneficiary. Today, he is trying
to regain his media virginity. He castigates the power in place,
denounces “political charlatanisms”, sets himself up as a giver of lessons,
forgetting that he was one of the relays of a regime whose excesses have lastingly
marked the national consciousness.
His academic and media career, however respectable, does not
could erase his past compromise.
He chose his side in the dark hours of the Republic. He has
profited from. Let him now assume the consequences.
The two Mamadous: symbols of a fallen generation
The two Mamadous are not mere polemicists. They embody a
bygone era, when access to the microphone was enough to form an opinion, and where the
proximity to power was equivalent to competence.
But Senegal has changed. A conscious generation has emerged, demanding
consistency, merit and loyalty to the truth.
Your criticisms, gentlemen, do not reflect patriotic concern,
but an existential angst. You can't stand those you
you have despised embody today the refoundation of a State that
you have contributed to perverting. Your anger is not political, it is
psychological, it is the rage of the vanquished in the face of the evidence of
change.
No revolution ever needs the blessing of the fallen.
Diomaye-Sonko tandem does not have to justify itself to those who applauded
drift and mourned the loss of power.
The people, for their part, have decided, they have chosen ethics over duplicity, courage
against compromise, rupture against nostalgia.
So, to the two Mamadous, a simple piece of advice: keep quiet.
Because the history of the new Senegal is written without the bitterness of the past and
especially, without the lessons of those who have everything to reproach themselves for.

Moi, je n’y comprends que dalle!
What goes around comes around.
