Distinction between “recovery” and “recovery”
While the Prime Minister mentioned a recovery plan, I personally believe it is more of a stimulus plan. The term "recovery" implies a response to a critical situation, almost a corrective emergency. However, Senegal's current situation calls for more than just a recovery: it requires a long-term vision, an ambitious and structured strategy to rebuild our economy in a resilient, inclusive, and sovereign manner.
To speak of recovery is to choose a word that carries hope, initiative, and national mobilization. It is to recognize that beyond the difficulties, we have immense potential to activate, provided we believe in our own abilities, rethink our models, and unite all energies around a common project.
Contribution to the Economic Recovery Plan Announced by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko
The plan recently announced by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko represents a decisive step in the national recovery trajectory. However, beyond the notion of recovery, it should be seen as a genuine recovery plan, a new dynamic geared towards rebuilding our economy on solid, inclusive, and sustainable foundations.
The revival of the Senegalese economy necessarily requires the mobilization of all the nation's vital forces. It requires an approach based on collective resilience, the development of national resources, and the promotion of local production. No economic progress can be envisaged without renewed trust between the State, citizens, and economic actors.
Before claiming full sovereignty, it is imperative to aim for true economic independence. A nation dependent on the world for its basic needs, funding, or strategic vision remains in a weak position. We must break free from this pattern of chronic dependence, not by rejecting external partnerships, but by asserting our ability to produce, innovate, and decide our own priorities.
In this context, the South-South partnership appears to be a credible and relevant path. It allows for the forging of links between states that share similar economic realities, common challenges, but also complementary opportunities. This solidarity between emerging nations is today one of the most promising levers for autonomous and balanced development.
More than ever, the time has come for unity, boldness, and shared responsibility. This recovery plan must not be the exclusive responsibility of the government, but that of all Senegalese. Everyone, at their own level, must identify with it, contribute to it, and feel responsible for it.
Because it is only by believing in ourselves, by valuing our potential, and by acting together that we will be able to build an economically strong, sovereign Senegal, and one that looks to the future.

certes monsieur seydi Ba mais dans ce plan de redressement du pm il y a forcément un des 3 cités qui en fera les frais, pas d'omelette sans casser d’œufs. le plan est très ambitieux et souverain mais il y a tellement d'obstacles a prévoir. j'éspère qu'il réussira même si ce n'est pas dans les délais.
