The Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) will pay a vibrant tribute to Senegalese music icon Souleymane Faye, known as "Jules," on the occasion of his fifty-year career.

According to Wal Fadjri, who relayed the information, this event will take the form of a multidisciplinary international conference to be held on January 22 and 23, 2026. The objective will be to examine the work, the career, and the impact of this "extraordinary" artist, recognized for his unique style, his authenticity, and his profound texts mixing poetry and social satire.
