A new bridge is emerging between Dakar and Conakry in the field of cultural journalism. During a visit to Guinea, the president of the Association of Cultural Press of Senegal (APCS), Alioune Badara Mané, held numerous meetings with prominent figures in the Guinean cultural sector.

Among those he met were Malick Kébé, director of the Arts and Culture Development Fund (FODAC), Mamadou Thug, president of the National Assembly's cultural commission and director of the Labé Festival, and Sansy Kaba, initiator of the 72 Hours of the Conakry Book Fair. These discussions reflect a shared desire to strengthen synergies between cultural stakeholders and specialized media.

At the heart of this dynamic, the Simandou project opens up new perspectives. It notably includes the involvement of Senegalese cultural journalists in several artistic and event-based initiatives in Guinea. Media professionals will thus have the opportunity to cover major cultural events such as Mamaya, the Guinea Biennale, the Nimba Festival, and the 72 Hours of the Book.

The partnership also includes a significant scientific component. Around fifteen Senegalese cultural journalists will soon be mobilized to participate in training sessions, masterclasses, and panels dedicated to the cultural and creative industries. The objective is to promote the sharing of expertise and support the professional development of the new generation of Guinean journalists.

With this in mind, an agreement has been signed with the Mory Kanté Higher Institute of Arts in Dubréka, paving the way for specialized training for Senegalese professionals. The APCS also invites interested journalists to contact its secretariat for information on the selection process.
