Miss Univers 2025 : « Je ne dors presque plus »
Ndèye Ngoné Diagne, known as Camilla Diagne, recently crowned Miss Universe Senegal, is actively preparing to represent her country at the 2025 edition of the competition, scheduled for November in Thailand.
In an interview with Le Soleil newspaper, Camilla Diagne shared her immense joy after a "very close" election. She attributes her victory to her extensive experience in the beauty pageant world, having been elected Miss Dakar in 2018, representing Senegal at Miss Earth 2022 and Miss Planet 2024. According to her, these experiences have allowed her to assert herself and stand out from the crowd.
The young woman says she is "fully involved" in the preparations, to the point of "almost not sleeping anymore", due to the intense pace of rehearsals, trips to different regions of the country and visits to orphanages.
Keen to promote Senegalese culture, Camilla Diagne plans to collaborate with numerous local designers for her outfits. She hopes to embody strong values, particularly authenticity, on the international stage.
Beyond beauty, she intends to champion the fight against cancer, a personal cause since she lost her father the previous year. Despite the many requests and criticisms since her crowning, the former Miss Planet says she remains reserved and affirms that her experience helps her maintain her balance.
Finally, the national daily's interlocutor appealed for support from the Senegalese people - authorities, influencers, stylists and citizens - recalling that it is "the colors of Senegal that will be at stake" in Thailand, and not her person alone.
