Musique : Youssou Ndour nommé vice-président de la CISAC
More good news for the Senegalese music star. Youssou Ndour has just been appointed vice-president of CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers - international organization for copyright management).
This appointment, announced on Wednesday, June 3, will take effect at the CISAC Annual General Meeting to be held in Paris this Thursday. This event marks the centenary of CISAC.
The International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers represents more than 5 million creators through 227 member societies spread across 111 countries.
CISAC works to protect copyright, strengthen collective management systems and ensure the remuneration of songwriters, composers, audiovisual creators, writers and visual artists for the use of their works.
CISAC has made artificial intelligence a priority in its advocacy efforts, calling for creators to be able to license their works to AI tools, be compensated for these uses, and for AI developers to disclose copyrighted material used to train their models.
