Forum Amérique Latine–Afrique : Aminata Touré co-préside un dialogue de haut niveau sur l’investissement public
On the sidelines of the Latin America-Africa Forum being held in Bogotá, Colombia, Aminata Touré, High Representative of the President of the Republic of Senegal, co-chaired a high-level dialogue of the Coalition of Governments for Public Investment, alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia.
Mimi Touré, a member of the Club of Madrid, participated in this strategic meeting which brought together representatives of governments from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa. According to her, the discussions focused on ways to reform international finance to make it more inclusive and equitable.
"This initiative aims to shift international finance towards a fairer and more equitable model where all nations contribute to and benefit from investments in global public goods such as health, education, youth employment, capacity building and women's rights and environmental preservation," said Mimi Touré.
Senegal plays an active role in this dynamic. Indeed, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cheikh Niang, is among the co-chairs of this coalition, illustrating the country's commitment to fairer global economic governance.
This dialogue takes place within an international context marked by increasing calls for reform of development financing mechanisms, in order to better respond to global challenges.
