Visite au Japon : Bassirou Diomaye Faye s’est entretenu avec le Premier ministre Nippon

Not a minute's respite. Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Faye is holding a series of meetings this Wednesday, August 20. On this day, he first received Tunisian Prime Minister Sara Zaafarani, then met with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

During this exchange, described as "rich" by a note from the presidency of the republic, the two leaders discussed the "excellence" of relations between Senegal and Japan, based on bilateral cooperation described as "exemplary", historical ties and common values such as "peace, democracy, respect for the rule of law and international law".

The presidency reports that the head of state called for strengthened cooperation in strategic areas such as training, health, water, fisheries, as well as peace and security. "He particularly emphasized training as a major pillar of development, emphasizing that Japan's success demonstrates that the quality of human resources is the key to progress," the institution's publication states.

It is within this framework that an agreement will be signed for the construction of an annex to the Senegal-Japan Vocational and Technical Training Center (CFPT-SJ) in Diamniadio, and other agreements will follow in the coming days.
