Diamaguène Sicap Mbao : le «guinzman» menace de tuer son père
A family tragedy was narrowly averted in the Sam-Sam 3 neighborhood of Diamaguène Sicap Mbao. A young man, I. Diatta, a user of cellulosic products commonly known as "guinz," threatened to kill his father with an iron bar, according to Les Échos.
Under the influence of drugs, the same source continued, the accused regularly created a climate of terror within the family, hurling insults and provocations. To avoid conflict, his relatives eventually ignored him and kept him at arm's length.
The situation escalated when I. Diatta, exasperated by his father's attempts to reason with him, lost his temper and armed himself with an iron bar, uttering death threats against the old man. "Terrified, the father hastily threw on his clothes, rushed to the Sicap Mbao police station, and requested police intervention. Fearing the worst at home, he quickly drafted a police report."
The police intervened urgently at the family home, disarmed the young man and arrested him in the act.
When questioned by investigators, the accused attempted to downplay the events, claiming he only wanted to "frighten" his family, whom he accuses of conspiring against him. Despite his expressed remorse, I. Diatta was brought before the prosecutor at the Pikine court, where he will face charges of making death threats and violence against a person in a position of authority, the newspaper reports.
