Guédiawaye : une adolescente chute d’un R+2 après une précédente tentative de suicide
A 16-year-old girl, A. Sow, fell dramatically from the terrace of a two-story building. Seriously injured in the head, she is currently in intensive care at Fann Hospital. The tragedy, which has shaken the "Deux-Voies Notaire" neighborhood in Guédiawaye, occurred Wednesday evening around 9 p.m., according to L'Observateur.
Reported by the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias, witnesses described the dramatic scene: after asking a shopkeeper to plug in her phone, the teenager went up to the building's terrace. She was seen walking dangerously close to the edge before falling. Her body struck electrical wires before she crashed to the ground. Residents who rushed to the scene found the victim lying in a pool of blood.
“At first, I thought it was a heavy object. When I saw it was a girl, I screamed,” said a couscous vendor, shaken by the scene. A motorist, surprised that no emergency services had yet been called, immediately contacted the fire department, who evacuated the victim.
At the Guédiawaye police station, the schoolgirl's mother revealed that her daughter has been suffering from mental health issues since her father's death. Even more worrying, the police learned that, just 48 hours before the fall, A. Sow had already attempted suicide by jumping onto the VDN 3 highway from the Wakhinane-Nimzatt footbridge, but had been stopped at the last minute by a police officer.
As the young girl struggles for her survival, investigators try to clarify the exact circumstances of her fall, without ruling out any hypothesis: suicide, impulsive act or new psychological crisis.
