A routine intervention turned into a high-speed chase for officers from the Jaxaay district police station. The result: a suspected drug dealer apprehended along with his merchandise.
The events took place around 1 p.m. Having been contacted regarding an intervention on a disputed plot of land in unit 05 of the Parcelles Assainies de Jaxaay, the police station, under the command of Commissioner Cheikh Ndiaye, immediately dispatched a team from the research brigade to the scene.

As the police vehicle approached, the workers on the site fled. The officers gave chase and managed to apprehend one of them.
The suspect, MN, 31 years old, a mason residing in Unit 04 of the Parcelles Assainies district of Jaxaay, was immediately searched. In his backpack, the police discovered 67 packets of Indian hemp concealed in a plastic bag, as well as 2,000 CFA francs.

When questioned about the origin of the drugs, MN admitted to having transported them from Tambacounda with the intention of reselling them. Charged with possession, offering, and distribution of cannabis, he was taken into custody following a recommendation from Prosecutor Saliou Dicko. The investigation is ongoing.
