Mac de Ziguinchor : livrés à l'OCRTIS, deux détenus trahis par un pot de yaourt
On January 7, guards intercepted a suspicious package addressed to inmate Babacar Ba (21 years old) at the Ziguinchor Detention and Correction Center (MAC). Upon inspecting a yogurt container, officers discovered approximately 20 grams of Indian hemp carefully concealed in a plastic bag, reports Source A.
An internal delivery thwarted
When questioned about the origin of the substance, Babacar Ba admitted to the facts while claiming to be only an intermediary. According to his statements, the drugs were actually intended for another resident of the facility, identified as Abasse Sagna (26 years old).
Investigation into supply chains
Given the seriousness of the offenses, the newspaper reports, the two inmates were removed from their cells and handed over to the Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), part of the Central Office for the Suppression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS). Placed in police custody, they are now the subject of a new procedure for drug trafficking within a prison setting. An investigation is underway to identify suppliers and determine any potential accomplices, whether internal or external, the same source adds.
