Pout : C. Thiam alias « Poutine » poursuivi pour offre ou cession de chanvre indien
C. Thiam, alias "Poutine," a merchant by profession, appeared in court after being arrested in Pout in alleged possession of 500 grams of Indian hemp. He is being prosecuted for offering or supplying drugs.
In court, the defendant formally denied the charges against him. He maintained that he had never been arrested with marijuana, asserting that the accusations were based on a malicious denunciation. "It was an informant who denounced me. He's an enemy," he declared before the court.
Regarding the sum of 45,000 CFA francs found on him during his arrest, C. Thiam explained that it was money from the sale of broiler chickens, an activity he carries out alongside his business.
For his part, the public prosecutor pointed out that this was not the first time the defendant had been prosecuted for drug-related offenses. According to the prosecution, this was C. Thiam's third appearance in court for similar cases. He therefore requested that the law be applied.
The case has been adjourned for deliberation pending a decision from the court.
