Thiaroye : Un chauffeur fonce sur des policiers, qui tirent dans les pneus pour immobiliser la voiture

During the night of February 28 to March 1, 2026, the elements of the Thiaroye district police station deployed around the Thiaroye TER station and at the descent of the bridge leading to the Thiaroye market experienced moments of intense tension.

At around 5 a.m., agent MD attempted to stop a grey Peugeot 307 coming from Tally Diallo for a routine check.

The driver refused to comply and sped towards the bridge. As they descended the bridge, his colleagues, YB and NB, also signaled the driver to stop, using their flashlights. Their pleas were ignored. The vehicle again sped towards them, endangering their lives.

Faced with this situation, Officer YB fired at the vehicle's tires to immobilize it. The shots hit the right-hand side mirror and front door.

Upon inspection, the driver, who had attempted to impersonate Mbaye Sy Diop, was formally identified as NN, 31 years old, a driver residing in Keur Mallé. He was found to be in possession of neither a valid driver's license nor insurance, presenting only a permit that had expired on February 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM, issued by the Tivaouane urban police station for unauthorized transportation.

His passenger, AS, 24, a salesman residing in Thiaroye near the Fallou Warga intersection, was also arrested. A search of the vehicle revealed nothing of interest to the investigation.

When questioned briefly, NN attempted to justify his behavior by claiming he hadn't seen the police officers clearly. This version of events is hardly convincing given the facts.

The two suspects were taken into custody, the vehicle was impounded, and checks related to their driver's licenses are underway. An investigation has been opened. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko has been informed of the facts.

Ils en ont profiter pour exercer un peu. Bien fait pour eux, Diapp nitt yii si dara kèssè moy sene ligueye. Il aurait du les atteindre, cons qu ils sonts, viser des pneus , mon oeil!!!

Quand la police dit stop. Il faut arreter. Comment developper ce pays avec votre manque de civisme.Non seulement il n'est pas en regle. Et il veut attenter a la vie des agents de l'ordre. Perpèèète !!!

Si les automobilistes n’ont aucun respect pour les policiers c’est parce que ces derniers ne se respectent pas. La plus part de flics sont corrompus jusqu’à la moelle. Ils prennent l’argent au vu e su de tout le monde sans gêne. Il faut vraiment une vraie formation pour intégrer la police car cela devient inquiétant.

En voulant tirer sur les pneus, il a atteint avec brio le rétroviseur et la portière. Bravo. Il doit faire deux mois au stand de tir de la police. C'est un danger public
